About

Who am I?

Hill Country native who was born and raised in Texas. I am a vibrant 52-year-old who has chosen the remarkable over the ordinary. I made the decision to take life in my own hands and reevaluate what it could mean to have it all. I gave up my rural home for a home-on-wheels, and I now spend all of my time traveling the wide areas of the Lone Star State within my roomy, contemporary RV.

I’ve started a voyage of self-discovery and adventure with my two loyal friends, Maggie and Chico, a pair of vivacious and affectionate Rescue Dogs. I am determined to thoroughly explore Texas’s many and alluring landscapes, from the alluring desert panoramas to the state’s sun-kissed coastline and everything in between.

My days are filled with excursions to national parks, historical sites, and cultural immersion. I keep a blog called “Off Beat Texan” where I chronicle my trips and share my observations, pictures, and the fascinating tales of the people I meet.

fostering the enjoyment and memory of each journey. I have explored the East Texas piney woodlands, marveled at the bluebonnets in the Hill Country, and even tackled the Davis Mountains’ arduous terrain. I want my tale to serve as an example for others who aspire to break free from convention, embark on self-defined adventures, and truly live life on their own terms.

I’m eager to carry on with my journey across the wonderful state of Texas, making every mile count.
